Chilhowie is a Flimsy! from The Modern Diary

I do not remember if I mentioned we finally got a new dog.  Meet Lady.  She is supposedly three, but we are not buying it.  She has a bit more energy than we expected but otherwise fits in nicely.  She loves Kathy!
Last Thursday I spent eight hours getting Chilhowie's center done.  Managed to get the border on too.  All the matching pieces were not my favorite, but it looks nice.
Yesterday was Kathy and I's eighteenth anniversary. She brought me roses!
Today I completed the Chilhowie top.  Super happy with it and so excited to get it ...

Tea Party and Chilhowie Updates! from The Modern Diary

I sewed Tea Party together yesterday...I made a mistake in one corner and "fixed it" and continued on with it only to discover when I laid it out that I fixed the wrong mistake and made more work for myself!
It needs a pressing and a quick trim up.  Andi has asked to custom quilt it in the spring so I will be mailing it off to her!

More Mysteries than Ever! from The Modern Diary

New Year's sewing weekend was a lot of fun!  My health cooperated and I was able to sew two days in a row!  I put our usual Burgendy Beef in the crockpot (with organic soup which still gave me a bit of a migraine, darn).
This pic is the start of BJ's Nuts and Bolts mystery.  While I was waiting for my mystery to start I worked on my Chilhowie blocks but once the mystery started there was not time to get back to them!

BJ started out with her Cuts and Bolts mystery (the rest of us ...

Chilhowie and More! from The Modern Diary

I hope you have all had Happy Holidays!  Despite coming down with Covid for the first time (pretty sure my granddaughter brought it to her dad, then me, then her mom) we went to my folks--barely making they cut off for quarantine.  The kids have had it before.  Kathy somehow did not get it--despite being exposed to her and to me all week.  I took Paxlovid since I am immuno-compromised.  I actually felt better than normal from the time I was exposed until the time the Paxlovid ended.  This seems to happen to me...my fatigue lifts decently when my ...

Behind on the Blogging! from The Modern Diary

I am behind on the blogging!  I have been sewing so let's catch you up!  I made seven of these paper pieced books from Etsy for my Up to No Good Book Club group members.  This fabric reminds me of "The Luminaries" which was one of the first books I read with the group.

I also sewed up the second to last Log Cabin Love block awhile back.  One to go.

Here are all the blocks so far.  Linking up with Angela!
I finished an Eye Spy quilt and got it tied and bound and off to Norway.  This ...
